Remembering Comstock Fire & Rescue Department Chief Ed Switalski

Please join us in keeping the Comstock Fire & Rescue Department and the Switalski family in your thoughts and prayers today. Chief Ed Switalski lost his life 6 years ago today while responding to an accident.

Ed was on scene for a call on I-94 on the evening of June 14, 2017, when he was tragically hit by a passing motorist that took his life. He made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his community.

Ed’s time here was cut short, however, he made long-lasting memories and friends. His big smile and laughter have surely been missed. We continue to honor him and will never forget all that he gave to our community and our Fire Department. His legacy continues to live in all of us that knew him and we will continue to share his memory with our new members that never got to know him.
