Senior Expo Returns to Kalamazoo County

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 24th Annual Kalamazoo County Senior Expo returns to the Kalamazoo County Expo Center on Oct. 3.

The event features over 100 exhibitors representing various organizations, serving as a hub for community resources intended to meet the unique needs of older adults living in Kalamazoo County.

“We want to connect older adults to the resources necessary for them to age in place as active members of their community,” Area Agency on Aging Manager Don Saldia said. “Events like the Senior Expo help us do this, and funding sources like the senior millage help to support it.”

Senior millage-funded programs keep seniors and older adults in their homes for as long as possible with the support they need.

Administered by the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department’s Area Agency on Aging Region 3A, the senior millage provides in-home services, care management, education, safety, dignity, independence, and healthy living programs for Kalamazoo County residents aged 60 and above.

“There is a plethora of services available to the older adults of Kalamazoo County for them to age in place as comfortably as possible,” Saldia said. “We’re thrilled to welcome the community to attend this year’s Senior Expo to learn about these opportunities and resources.”

Some of the services available to older adults living in Kalamazoo County through the senior millage include:

  • Adult Day Centers
  • Hearing Aids
  • Home Delivered Meals
  • Home Repair
  • Legal Assistance
  • Transportation
  • Wheelchair Ramps

Located at 2900 Lake St, Kalamazoo, 49048, the Kalamazoo County Expo Center will welcome guests on Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Directions on how to best reach the Expo Center during nearby construction can be found here.
