FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Comstock Charter Township Offices is moving into its new home in September.

We are excited to announce that our new Township Facility will be open to the public on Monday, September 25, 2023.

The Comstock Charter Township Offices will be closed Thursday, September 21, 2023, and Friday, September 22, 2023, as the Township moves into our new home.

The new facility, located at 5858 King Highway, is more accessible to the public, has more parking, and enough space to hold a voting precinct. The new facility will also provide adequate, safe, and easily accessible meeting space.

A new Township Hall was in our 5-10 plan to facilitate the growth of the Township. After exploring different options, we decided to purchase the former Niko’s Landing Banquet Hall from the Grafos Family. Renovating this building was much cheaper than building a new facility. We bought the building for $950,000 with money from the American Rescue Plan Act. No new taxes were raised to pay for the facility.

We hired Schley Nelson Architects to design and plan the building. Our maintenance team began working on the new facility on May 25, 2022. The plans for the new facility went out for bid on November 17, 2022, and the Kalleward Group began working on the New Township Hall on February 2, 2023.

The building was turned over to the Township in August of 2023. We will begin moving into the facility later this month. We expect to be fully moved in before Saturday, September 23, 2023.
