Sprinkle Road closed at railroad tracks

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) offers the following update to the construction on South Sprinkle Road between I-94 and N Avenue/Kilgore Road. The project includes asphalt milling and resurfacing, ramp upgrades, curb and gutter work, and storm sewer improvements. Work began April 3, 2023, and is on track to be completed by June 30, 2023, weather permitting.

Sprinkle Road at the railroad crossing will be entirely closed starting on May 12 for the railroad company to perform railroad crossing improvements. This closure is expected to last until approximately the end of May. The RCKC and Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company have collaborated on timelines in order to reduce overall effects on the motoring public. During this time traffic will be detoured to Cork Street, Portage Road, and then to Kilgore Road.
