A look back: General Motor’s Fisher Body Plant

The Comstock Bicentennial Commemorative Book described the General Motor’s Fisher Body Plant as “the most modern metal fabricating plant in the world.”
The plant was located on a 400-acre site in southwest Comstock Charter Township.
The Fisher Body Plant produced basic body components for shipment to GM assembly operations.
Ground was broken in the facility in July 1964 and production began in August 1965.
Although the body plant closed, the site remains as Midlink Business Park.
