A look back: The South Comstock Ladies Library Association

According to the Comstock Bicentennial Commemorative Book, the South Comstock Ladies Library Association is the oldest women’s organization in Comstock.
The association was founded on September 5, 1885, with 12 women and 400 books.
The Association raised money through box socials, quilting bees, food sales, and other activities. in 1936 they had around 700 books.
In 1956, they donated all their books to the Comstock Township Library and kept meeting as a social group.
