Comstock Township will be joining officials from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and local legislators to celebrate the Township becoming certified as a Redevelopment Ready Community (RRC).
The celebration will be held on August 16, 2022 at Merrill Park, 5845 Comstock Avenue from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Comstock Township is the 3rd township in the State of Michigan to be certified as a RRC by the MEDC.
The Township has worked toward this certification for over 2 years by removing barriers for development and streamlining the approval processes to be more competitive in today’s economy.
Comstock Township was officially certificated as a RRC on June 16, 2022 and has already begun taking advantage of the opportunities the MEDC provides.
The RRC is a free program through the MEDC that will help Comstock Charter Township establish a solid foundation for redevelopment and investment in the community.
“We’re excited to move forward as a Redevelopment Ready Community,” Township Supervisor Randy Thompson said, “this will open doors to help our community move in a positive direction.”
