What’s going up there- Dorrance Ford on Miller Drive

Dorrance Ford Owner Bill Dorrance says his business is one of the last small, family-owned dealerships in the Kalamazoo County area.

He said that “Pretty much everyone is an auto group….Between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, we are the only one’s I’m aware of.”

However, soon Bill and his team will have a new, permanent home in Comstock Township.

Bill said “I’m really excited to get over there and offer Comstock Township and the East side of Kalamazoo a state-of-the-art facility.”

On May 4, 2022, construction crews continued working on the new dealership, located on Miller Drive in Galesburg.

The 6.55 acre property will house both a dealership and repair shop.

Around a third of the property will be green space.

He is hopeful that he’ll be opening this new facility this summer.

Bill said “Right now we’re hoping the construction process will be done by June and we can move in and open in the first part of July.”

Bill’s excited to continue offering service to the Comstock Community.

He said, “I’m really excited to keep a car dealership in the area.”

Dorrance Ford has been in the community for over 20 years and has been owned by Bill since 2006.

Bill also said he focused on hiring local, including for their new dealership.

He said, “I wanted to use as many local contractors as I could.”
